Financial support for business development

Get funding to grow your business! Cooperation with WPT opens up the possibility of obtaining support in obtaining an EU grant or receiving public aid, which can allow innovative ideas to be put into practice.

The assistance that can be received at WPT is of a diverse nature. It takes the form of, among other things, a Grant Voucher to cover the costs of preparing the documentation necessary to apply for EU funding for projects involving the use of WPT’s research facilities. The WPT also provides public aid, thanks to which a company can benefit on preferential terms from the specialised consulting and training services of the Wrocław Technology Park. A final form of support is de minimis aid, which allows services to be obtained on preferential terms to support the development of the company.

Types of funding

Grant voucher

Obtain European funding for the development of your project. The ‘Grant Voucher’ mechanism enables the process of applying for EU support to be initiated via the Wrocław Technology Park.

As part of this programme, we support and finance the process of preparing the documentation necessary to apply for EU funding for research and development projects. It is aimed at entities that envisage the use of laboratory apparatus and other WPT resources in the implementation of their projects.

“Grant voucher” refers to funding that both our residents and other individuals or companies interested in carrying out extensive research and development activities on our Park can use to cover the fixed costs associated with preparing an EU grant application. These can range from in-house costs incurred in the course of business to the remuneration of a specialised consultancy.

Thanks to our mechanism, the complex process of applying for EU funds will become simpler and easier, and you will reduce the formalities to the necessary minimum and be able to focus on the substance of your project. All so that you can, with our support, bring your innovations to life.

Public aid

Take advantage of public funding and grow your business. As part of the project “From Wrocław Technology Park to Innopolis Wrocław”, we transfer public aid to companies carrying out research, development or innovation activities.

Our support to entrepreneurs comes in the form of training and advisory services, in various areas:

  • within the conduct of research, development or innovation activities,
  • for the establishment or development of enterprises carrying out research, development or innovation activities,
  • in the field of technology transfer or intellectual property rights (consultancy services only).

WPT’s training and advisory services are co-funded by public funds so that entrepreneurs can benefit from them on preferential terms, i.e. they do not pay the full market cost of using them.

The amount of public aid provided is calculated by the difference between the cost an entrepreneur would incur by using such a service under market conditions and the actual cost of the service. However, it may not exceed 50% of the eligible expenditure for consultancy services and 70% of the eligible expenditure for training services.

This form of business support makes WPT’s training and consultancy services affordable not only for successful businesses, but also for newly established micro and small companies.

De minimis aid

We raise funds from national and EU support programmes so that they are then transferred to the companies we work with. One of the types of support that can be obtained through cooperation with the Park is de minimis aid.

The de minimis aid we provide has its origins in the specific activities of our Park, namely:

  • Measure 5.3: Supporting Innovation Centres, Priority Axis 5 Diffusion of Innovation , implemented under the Operational Programme Innovative Economy 2007 – 2013, for the benefit of residents of the Wrocław Technology Park including entrepreneurs within DAIP and IIP;
  • Measure 5.1: Supporting the development of cooperative links of supra-regional importance, Priority axis 5 Diffusion of Innovation, under the Operational Programme Innovative Economy 2007 – 2013, for the benefit of NUTRIBIOMED Cluster members;
  • “Skrzynia” Integration Business Incubator – continuation of Measure 1.4:  Infrastructure supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in the region, Priority axis 1 Increase  in  the competitiveness of Lower Silesian enterprises, under the Regional Operational Programme for the Lower Silesian Voivodship 2007-2013, for the benefit of the Residents of IIP “Skrzynia”

How do we support entrepreneurs in the various activities?

Measure 5.3 – Support for innovation centres

“From the Wrocław Technology Park to Innopolis Wrocław”. A project has been implemented under this name, following which we can provide our residents with a range of services to support their research, development or innovation activities. Since then, we have provided them with de minimis support in terms of:

  • the provision of research and development services,
  • the lease of immovable property or technical infrastructure for the purpose of carrying out research, development or innovation activities,
  • sales of intangible assets.

An entrepreneur may benefit from de minimis aid provided that its amount, together with other de minimis aid received in a given calendar year and other forms of support from other sources during the two preceding years, does not exceed EUR 200,000. For an entrepreneur operating in the road freight transport sector, the limit is more restrictive at €100,000.

The support granted under this scheme is the difference between the market prices of the services used by the aid beneficiary and the payments that the entrepreneur actually makes.

Measure 5.1 – Support for the development of supra-regional cooperative links

Thanks to the implementation of the project ‘Development of cooperative links of the NUTRIBIOMED Cluster aiming at commercialisation of innovative solutions’, we have created an Experimental Plant – a space for integration of NUTRIBIOMED Cluster participants, with tools for research, transfer, technology implementation and pilot production. As coordinator of the NUTROBIOMED Cluster, we provide de minimis support in the following areas:

  • use, for a contractual period of time, of all or particular modules of the Experimental Plant, enabling the production on a technical scale of dietary supplements, nutraceuticals or preparations for pharmaceutical applications, as well as research and analysis;
  • to carry out research and analysis for the development of specific solutions (know-how) related to technologies in food processing and biotechnological processes using the Experimental Plant;
  • the licensing of solutions related to technologies in food processing and biotechnological processes using the Experimental Plant (know-how) or the sale to an entrepreneur of intellectual property rights to these solutions.

The de minimis aid provided to Cluster members is the difference between the payment for services under market conditions and the payment actually made by the entrepreneur. At the same time, such aid may be granted provided that, together with other de minimis aid received in a given calendar year and in the course of two preceding years from various sources and in various forms, it does not exceed the amount of EUR 200,000 for one entrepreneur, and in the case of one entrepreneur conducting activity in the road freight transport sector – EUR 100,000.

Continuation of measure 1.4 through the Integration Business Incubator “Skrzynia”- Help to support the entry into employment and business start-up of people with disabilities.

As the coordinator of the Integrative Integration Incubator “Skrzynia”, we provide de minimis assistance to the entrepreneurs operating in it in terms of:
lease of office space in the Incubator building adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. The de minimis aid granted to IIP residents for space rental is the difference between the payment for the use of office space in the IIP building at market conditions and the costs actually incurred.
