Thank you for participation in Poland@CERN 2019!
Poland@CERN 2019, a visit of representatives of Polish companies and institutions to the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, was an event of great importance, meant to strengthen the cooperation between Europe’s largest research institution and Polish community. We organised it jointly with the National Centre for Research and Development.
Poland@CERN 2019 mission lasted three days, from 2 to 4 April. During sessions held on the first day, CERN representatives talked about the possibilities of cooperation with the organisation, while participants of the mission presented their potential. They also visited the interior of CERN, including CMS – LHC Point 5 and CERN Data Centre. The second day was spent on discovering new business opportunities. During thematic sessions, CERN representatives discussed issues such as upcoming tender proceedings, transfer of CERN technologies to industry or business opportunities brought about by the execution of the HL LHC project. The programme also included B2B networking meetings. 120 meetings were pre-arranged, but we know that in fact many more of them took place. On the last day, discussions were held on the future of Big Science in Poland and on companies’ expectations regarding the scope of support they need to enter this complex market.
The event was participated by over 20 Polish companies and institutions linked to the high-tech sector, represented by more than 60 specialists and scientists. We would like to thank all the participants, special guests and project partners. Let us hope that participation in the event will bring numerous benefits!
